As I begin writing this blog I am not 100% sure of its purpose. I tend to honour and notice my persistent intuitions and then take action, so I am following the nudge. I have a feeling that we are about to learn something together!
Last week I made a commitment to myself, that I would offer 100 free connections / conversations. This was also a persistent intuitive nudge that I decided to run with. In my core I know it is the right thing to do. The idea of connecting with 100 people and witnessing their stories is very exciting and totally aligns with my mission / purpose.
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." ~ Thomas Edison
So I put it out there and that created some breathtaking accountability. OMG now I actually have to do this..... Then I started to notice how quickly I wanted to give up and throw in the towel. I think in the last week I probably quit about 12+ times that I noticed. In no time I had about 10 connections in process and I thought "wow this is going to be easy". Then when the first person cancelled I immediately went down the "I Quit" path. My Inner Critic is alive and well.
I slowed down and took some time to notice and observe my thoughts and I reflected on what I had done up until now. As much as I judge my process, I have never fully quit. I have taken some breaks and I have reached some dead ends and turned back and picked a new path. I have however learned more than I can even communicate over the last 9 years. Every moment this week when I quit I also asked myself, "Is this in alignment with your purpose"? The answer was always "Yes" which would put me back in motion. I also received some beautiful feedback which put some extra fuel in my gas tank.
Another thought came to mind as I was going through my process. I wondered how many people quit before they begin. This thought brought me sadness because I know that it's true. I know that many people day dream about what they want to be or do and before the idea can even gain traction it is shut down. Knowing this, is the spark that continuously lights my fire and keeps me moving forward. So that is why I continue to put myself and my offerings out there or keep writing my blogs. What I am sharing is for me and it may also be for you!
In writing this it re-connects me to what it is that I am sharing in the "Connect to You" 5 week program. For 5 weeks you can go on a journey that will move you into action. Clarify your road blocks and connect you to your purpose. A road map that can keep you in action.
Thanks for reading!
