Q&A
What led Ross to become a life coach?
While working at Starbucks, Ross shared the book Fierce Conversations with his team, and a shift supervisor told him he would make a good life coach. He looked into it and signed up for coach training in 2006.
What are the stages of the hero’s journey?
Ross describes four stages: separation, the initiation, transformation or rebirth, and the return to your village. He says separation often begins as a tap on the shoulder, an invitation to break free of the path you have been on.
What does Ross believe about nervous system regulation?
Ross says our nervous systems become tuned by our experiences, but they can be retuned. He believes many struggles are symptoms of a dysregulated nervous system and that healing starts with safety and connection.
What is shadow work?
Ross describes shadow work as reclaiming the parts of ourselves we have suppressed, rejected or denied, so we can shine our full light. He says it is really light work.
What is one simple way to connect with the sacred today?
Ross says to get out in nature with no agenda. Be with the trees, the earth and the elements, because nature is always teaching us and connecting us back to our own rhythm.
