The Open Solar Plexus

One of the many areas of Human Design that has captivated my interest is the energy centers because there is so much valuable information embedded in them. Before I get into the Open Solar Plexus specifically, I will share some important info about the centers. Each center on the chart has a specific focus and consciousness.  Think of each center as a disk drive containing a wealth of information about our design.  Each center also relates to different parts of our biology.

• There are a total of nine energy centers and they are either defined (coloured in) which you will see in the above image. Centers can also be open (not coloured in or white) which is the triangle on the right of the image above that is pointing right. The open center in the picture is the Solar Plexus.
• Definition can reveal your strengths whereas openness can reveal your vulnerabilities and areas of growth.
  
• The centers offer valuable information such as who we are, what we may struggle with, and what our gifts might be.
  
• Definition means you have consistent access to the energy that center governs and that you are always broadcasting that energy.
• Openness means that you have inconsistent access to the energy that center governs and that you are receiving and susceptible to the broadcasts coming from others.
• Our Open Centers are where we learn and grow!

The Open Solar Plexus

I picked the Solar Plexus because I am quite fascinated by the impact this specific center can have on everyday life. I'll start with some quick facts about this center.

• This center governs and is where we process emotions.
• This is where we experience our passions, desires, moods, and sensitivity.
• Our feelings can be the cause of our suffering.
• Roughly 47 percent of the population has an Open Solar Plexus
• Openness means you do not have consistent access to your own feelings.
• You are receiving the broadcast of the feelings of those around you and amplifying them.

This is the part that stands out to me. The clients I have worked with that have an Open Solar Plexus are both deeply surprised and relieved when they learn about those last two attributes. With openness you feel everything and everyone. AND the most important part is what you are feeling isn't yours. You might want to read that again. I can think about so many situations that can make this really hard for someone with this attribute. One example would be picking up on the emotions in your family and then being the one to amplify and express them. Remember, those feelings don't even belong to you. Yet, you would be the one to be labeled as acting out. Now what is important to consider is the conditioning that this scenario would create for someone with this center open. This is just one small yet significant example of why I am so passionate about bringing this information to everyone I can. Imagine the level of acceptance and relief this information could bring to someone who hasn't been able to explain or understand this dynamic.
