To suggest that somebody might have the desire or need to grow up is a bold statement. After all we are adults with responsibility and commitment, we have brought children into this world, we own homes and cars etc. Despite the truth of all those grown up acts, we can be emotionally child like inside our adult bodies. Grow The F#&% Up is intended to be an urgent call to action; a metaphor for a deep desire for personal growth and change. At the same time there is an interesting
There is also likely a discomfort or inner struggle taking place which we feel, but don't necessarily know how to address. We then turn to things that numb this discomfort. Brene Brown said "The problem with numbing our feelings is that we also numb the good feelings like joy etc." For Men the most intense sign that there is an imbalance or disconnect is when there is anger. Anger can come out sideways when not acknowledged. Anger is fear turned outward and can literally destruct our relationships and our lives. (3 Steps to Embracing Anger) “We're all just walking each other home.” ~ Ram Dass. When we are connected to our purpose and our inner child feels seen and nurtured, we can begin to experience the peace and joy that is available and begin to experience life without the stress and drama that is created from imbalance. So if the phrase "Are you ready to Grow The F#&% Up" stirs something within you, makes you react, look in the mirror and reflect on your life; then I am grateful I found the courage to type those words for you to see. The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise”
