Nanaimo Men's Groups
Strengthen your investment in yourself
and your relationships
What is a men's group?
About this men's groupWe follow an outline designed to allow each man to be supported. It invites each man to look inward, assess where he is at, where he may need support, and where he may need to do some work.
What you get from the circle is really up to you. You can quietly witness others bravely moving through their process, be a compassionate presence, and learn a lot about yourself from the experience. You can also choose to speak up, ask to be challenged, and commit to taking supported action in your life. What to expect

While living on Vancouver Island and driving through downtown Duncan in 2013, a banner on a building saying, "Support for men" was noticed. This was the catalyst for attending my first men's group. It was a scary step to take. I didn't trust men and certainly didn't feel safe sharing with others. What was experienced and witnessed called me back to that group week after week.
After moving from Duncan to Squamish in 2014 I started and facilitated a men's group there until 2021. Then a 2021 move to the Okanagan led to regular attendance and occasional facilitation of two men's groups in that area. I relocated back to Vancouver Island in early 2025, Nanaimo this time, and then started a men's group there too. |

Nanaimo Open Group
Another weekly men’s group that I co-facilitate in Nanaimo. Attendance here is on a drop-in basis. Affiliated with The Mankind Project, this group's differently structured format explores men’s work without committing to joining a closed group. This option can be supportive for those new to men’s work, wanting attendance flexibility, or waiting for a space to become available in my Closed Group. |
